I have a field (termination date) that is set to date in power query. It is set to date in desktop.
When the user's use Power BI as a data source in excel, it's behaving like text. I'm at a loss.
I've also noticed that if I use "export data" to connect, it comes through as a date. This is only occuring on the OLAP Cube.
I wish it were that simple. The column is also a date format.
Hi @Mamaof2QTz ,
Here I create a sample to have a test. [Row Labels] is date type in Power Query Editor.
Then I get pivot table in Excel. It is date type as well and the sort works well.
In your screenshot, the column looks like text type. I think the data type in semantic model may be text type though the data type in power query editor is date. And I can reproduce your issue, the column in excel will be sorted like text.
You can change the data type in column tool to date and republish your report. Then it will work.
Best Regards,
Rico Zhou
