Custom visual based on clustered column chart

Is it possible to create a custom visual based on an existing visual? I want to create a custom visual which is exactly like the clustered column chart with a dynamic title or axis label. 

Is there a way to clone the code or use the existing visual or something?

Based on my test, it is possible. I just played with the sampleBarChart. I downloaded and copied all the folders and files to my visual folder, made a little change and packaged the visual. I can use the newly created visual in Power BI desktop without problem.

The problem now is how to get the source code, I've submitted a request here, let's wait and see.
