Hello Team,
I am working in Power Bi and my goal is to be able to pick a certain number of products (creating a basket) with different quantities each to see the total cost of the whole basket.
Would you guide me how to tackle that?
Thanks,
Fernando
Hi Fernando,
It depends. If the number of products is not large, it's possible. The products could be in a slicer in which you can make multi-selection. Each quantity is a slicer because you want to make it dynamic. Then the calculation is in a measure.
Dale
Hi Dale,
How the calculation would be?
Could you provide an example please?
Regards,
Fernando
Hi Fernando,
Please refer to the demo here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aaUjyZHMoah6zXoXPXbYifBdIpCulsth/view?usp=sharing
I hope it helps.

Hello Dale,
Looking at your example, it works perfectly for a predefined table but how should be done in case we keep adding products every once in a while (like merging new files monthly)?
Thanks again,
Fernando

As I mentioned this is not supported in Power BI. You need to know beforehand what buckets you want and how big they should be.
Yes, this is only a workaround. Not perfect, but it works.
Hi Fernando,
Try out this new version, please. It's hard to make the slicer to be single-select, so there will be a warning when multi-select happens.

Would be dynamic baskets based on a table (of products) already uploaded in Power Bi.
Should be able to do it in Power Bi or I need to combinde Power Apps as well?
A dynamic basket would be something like the Tableau LOD feature
Level of Detail Expressions - Tableau
As I mentioned this is not supported in Power BI. You need to know beforehand what buckets you want and how big they should be.
Are your baskets predefined or are you thinking of creating dynamic baskets? (Hint: not supported in Power BI)
