Hi everyone,
I have two published Power BI dashboards that both rely on the same data source. Due to project requirements, I need them to remain separate. In the first dashboard, I pull data directly from some APIs and from files stored in a SharePoint. In the second dashboard, I use a Direct Connection to the semantic model of the first dashboard, so if I need to make adjustments, I only have to do it once.
Until recently, everything worked as expected—both dashboards displayed all data from 2018 to 2024. However, the second dashboard (which uses the Direct Query Connection) has suddenly started to show incomplete data. It only displays information starting from 2024, ignoring all data from previous years. Meanwhile, the first dashboard still shows the entire data range from 2018 to 2024 with no issues. They are updated everyday, so I guess it's not a problem related to refreshing.
I’ve searched forums and documentation but haven’t found a solution. Has anyone encountered a similar issue or have any ideas on how to fix this? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

es, I just deleted the connection in Power BI Desktop and reconnected it. Now it's working; I guess it was some kind of bug
Thanks for the reply from lbendlin , please allow me to provide another insight:
Hi, @renanmury
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
Regarding the issue you raised, my solution is as follows:
1.Firstly, please ensure that the Direct Query connection settings for the second dashboard have not been modified, especially whether the report uses a time range filter. Certain settings might cause it to display only 2024 data, particularly if changes were made in edit mode. Changes made in the report's edit view can affect the pinned full-page dashboard.
Here is a screenshot from the relevant documentation:

2.Secondly, I recommend checking the logs and error messages in the Power BI service to see if there are any hints or warnings that might help us identify the root cause of the issue.
For example, you can check the refresh history in Power BI:

3.Then check if your data volume triggers the query data limit:
Please refer to:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-use-directquery#1-million-row-limit
4.Lastly, you might try republishing the second dashboard. Sometimes, republishing can resolve unexpected issues.
Of course, if you have any new discoveries or questions, please feel free to get in touch with us.

When you connect to that semantic model from a new report - can you see data before 2024?
