I am doing a Proof of Concept (POC). I need to create Report Definition Language (rdl) files using Power BI Report Builder Paginated Reports for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Version 1612 (8.2.27.28) (DB 8.2.27.28) on-premises.
Connections to Dynamics 365 v8.2 fails using the Dataverse option.
What is the best way to connect to Dynamics 365 v8.x using Power BI Report Builder for Paginated Reports?
Thanks for the suggestion. Let me work with the CRM Administration team on making this available if possible. I should reply back when we get a working result.
Hi @rhalesdev ,
Please try to add the DataSource in the Power Bi Report Builder report.
Connection type: Azure SQL Database
Server name: {ORGANIZATION_NAME}.crm.dynamics.com ,5558
Authentication Type: Azure AD
You can refer to this blog:

@V-lianl-msft Thank you for your response. However, the CRM Admin Team claims this feature is only available for Dynamics 365 v9.x online versions (not v8.x on-premise). Is this true?? I am looking for information on the feature's initial release.
Please make another suggestion for RDLs for Dynamics 365 v8.x as it relates to Power BI Paginated Report Builder.
