Change to Get Pages in Group REST API response

I noticed this morning that the "Get Pages in Group" API response is different than last week.  For months now we have been finding page information in two fields named:

> displayName

> Name

and now they appear as:

> displayName

> name

where "name" is now lowercase.  Was this change announced or expected?  This broke our application, which has been expecting and using "Name" for many months now.  Please help me understand how to avoid this situation in the future.  Is there a list of changes or release notes or anything to anticipate such breaking changes in the future?
