Hello team,
I hope you are all doing well. Currently, we are facing a challenge related to our global sales data, which contains a very detailed level of information. We have approximately 130 million records in our dataset.
Our users are accustomed to working with Excel and they connect to our Power BI dataset to perform their analyses and create dashboards in Excel. However, we have noticed that Excel's performance has significantly slowed down in our P3 production environment compared to our P2 UAT phase.
I would like to seek recommendations on how we can improve the speed of Excel. Please note that I use DAX to calculate the metrics.
Thank you for your assistance in Advance.
Examine the queries that are run against your datasets. Sometimes people are overly inventive and add Cube Functions in their Excel files (we had scenarios where they had a full cube in each of the 10000 cells of a sheet/table)
Migrate your users to "Live connection" exports to Excel - those use DAX queries and are much faster.
This is your chance to engage directly with the engineering team behind Fabric and Power BI. Share your experiences and shape the future.
