specific order of PowerBI waterfall breakdown

I am trying to sort my PBI waterfall breakdown in a specific order. I would like to have the below months sorted ascending by their name, instead of ascending their value. Do you know the solution?

Hi,

I am having the similar issue to have the waterfall based on specific orders, rather than ascending and descending.

Is there any recommended workaround or using numeric in front of label and sort based on label?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi @rrwyszynski_p ,

You could sort in the native waterfall chart.

Please kindly refer to

Change how a chart is sorted in a Power BI report

This does not solve my problem, sorting relates to years only on my example chart and i cant choose to sort by months and i am looking for some workaround

Hi @rrwyszynski_p ,

If you have a date column, you can create a month column based on the date column. What is created is a calculated column.

Month = MONTH([Date])

Or create a yearmonth column

YearMonth = FORMAT([Date],"YYYYMM")

This is still not the solution, i have data in this format:

rrwyszynski_p_0-1615366085911.png

This is what I want to do on the chart:

rrwyszynski_p_1-1615366151000.png

rrwyszynski_p_2-1615366193922.png

rrwyszynski_p_3-1615366210289.png

and as you can see, there is no way to sort the months, but it does not make sense to show them in the order 1, 8, 7, 5, 6, 11, etc.
