sort date in matrix table

hi all.

i have this table below, is there a way to sort the date in sequence?

The ascending and descending order was greyed out.

Please check the file I shared. I changed the year to the range and it is sorting correctly.

As suggested by @Greg_Deckler .

Add a column like

Month year sort = format(Date[Date],"YYYYMM")

And mark it as the sort column

You need to add a column in your Power Query that you can use for sorting and then use Sort By on your column in Power BI Desktop
