Hi, I've seen similar issues like mine, but none of the solutions work for me.
I have various sources of sales data from different customers. I have a "SKU Mapping" reference document that I use to standardize the item descriptions across all of the customers. I have a slicer that references this SKU Mapping table. When I add new SKUs to this table, they don't appear in the slicer (even after I refresh the data).
This is my first post, so I apologize if this is unclear or not enough information. Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to respond.
Cheers!

Is the field for the Strain Slicer a regular column that from SKU Map table , or a calculated column that extract value from SKU Map table ?
As you said , when you refresh in Desktop , the value for the graphs and tables of the report is updated and available ,if the field for the Strain Slicer is a regular column in SKU Map table ,it will be updated .Unless the field for the Strain Slicer is a calculated column that based on the SKU Map table .
You can compare the difference between the fields that are not updated in the slicer and the fields that are updated in the graphs and tables to see if the properties of the two are the same .

Hi Ailsa,
The field for Strain Slier is a regular column from the SKU Map table. You've identified the key issue I'm dealing with! In summary, the values in the slicer for "Strain" are a value field (not calculated) from the SKU Map table. This is why I'm confused as to why the slicer isn't updating.
I just solved the issue. I deleted the connection between the data tables and the SKU Mapping table and re-established the connected. The Strain Slicer has been updated.
Thank you so much for your responses and help on this. I really appreciate it!
What is the value for Strain Slicer from ? How did you update the Strain column ? what is your data source ? Which mode did you use to get the data from your data source ,Import or Direct Query or Live Connection ?
Can you describe your data structure and value method in detail ? Because I don’t know much about the way you get and update data, there is no way to judge your problem .
Looking forward to your reply !
Best Regards

The value for Strain Slicer comes from the SKU Map table. The data source is an excel file. I'm actually not too sure if it is Import/Direct Query/Live Connection. How can I tell?
When you look at the photo I sent before of the Model, there are 8 files. 6 of them are updated on a weekly basis with the latest weeks' sales data. These are on the top row of the model.
The two files on the bottom row ("SKU Map" and "DateLookup") are also excel files, but these are updated on an ad hoc basis, only when new SKUs are added or I need to increase the date range. These are used to clean up the data from the other 6 files on the top row, which each have unique SKU numbers and date formats, depending on the data source. The SKU Map and DateLookup serve to match the unique SKU numbers and date formats to a common reference point.
When I update any of the files on the top row of the model, I can hit the refresh button and all of the new info gets updated and is included in the Graphs and Tables of the Report. The issue is with the Strain Slicer, which references the SKU Map file. When new SKUs are added to the list on the SKU Map file, they don't show up on the Slicer. The new information is updated and available in the graphs and tables of the report, but just not in the slicer.
I hope that explanation helps! And thanks so much for your responses. I really appreciated it!
Hi Tom,
Thanks a lot for your quick response and for the linke to posting photos. Here are a couple of screenshots to show the model view. As an example, in the SKU Mapping table, I have updated the Strain column. The second screenshot shows a view of the slicer and a graph. The slicer doesn't update after I update the Strain column of the SKU mapping table.
Thanks,
Andrew
Hey @smokeythebear ,
welcome to Power BI, welcome to this community.
Pleae share a screenshot from the model view, make sure that the relaionships between the tables you mentioned in your initial post are visible and the column you are using in the slicer is highlighted as well as the table that gets updated.
