Microsoft Employeesetting default values to slicer on direct query
hi, is there any option to set a default slicer on ADW direct query?
instead of publish when one is selected
i want current month, for example

i want to set default value to slicers, i saw here great idea to add a column but my data source is in live connection so i cant do it.
is it possiblle to set default values?

MP_123 I am guessing you connecting live to sql server. you can build report with slicer select value in slicer, save pbix and then publish and share. Users will get report with defaulted value in slicer that you've selected.

your'e right, but i have months slicer, i want the default select will be current month. in this way i will have to republish every month.

Is it possible to use the Visual, Page or Report filters and then pin those objects to the Dashboard. Then, if the users need to get deeper into the details, then can go to the report for further and deeper analysis.

what do you mean by 'those objects'. i have a few filters and i want to set default
another thing - if i select one thing on slicer on dashboard, the visuals slices and then go to the report, the slicing cancel. why is that? how can i keep the slicing or higlighting?

Sorry for the confusion. "Those objects" would be the ones you want to only have the Current Month selected. At this time, there is no way that I am aware of to set the slicers to a specific default selection. I do know that you can write DAX formulas for Current Month and use those in visuals, and I know that you can use Visual/Page/Report filters to make a report that is Current Month.
With that said, could you tell us the use case is for this functionality? Maybe knowing that will help lead us to a solution.
