"File uses DirectQuery" message after upgrading from 2.78 to 2.79
Hi,
PowerBI Desktop Version: 2.79.5768.721 64-bit (March 2020)
Oracle Database 12c Enterprise Edition Release 12.1.0.2.0
I had reports developed using PBI Desktop version 2.78. After we were upgraded to 2.79, I get the below message every time I open the older reports. I clicked "Validate", made some changes and saved the report, but next time I get the same prompt. Clicking "Continue" doesn't change the behaviour either.
Reports created in this newer version do not get this prompt.
Has anyone seen this issue?

Hi Greg - Thanks for the links.
I am new to PowerBI and this site. Is this not monitored by Microsoft?

HI Anonymous,
I think this means power bi has released or modify some features of security settings, so it displays the notice message each time you open an old version report.
I'd like to suggest parameterize your report and save it a template file so that you can open on new version to enter your credentials to generate the new report.
After these steps, you can test with the new report file to confirm if this security notice issue fixed.
If this not works, I think you need to open a support ticket what the attached report and contact to power bi team check the backend reasons.Regards,
