need help

Hi All,

           i have a power bi report which was built on top of ssas tabular model with direct query.now i need to connect to sharepoint online to get new file into the same power bi report for doing data validation.when iam trying to access the get data from the report everything is greyout except power bi template apps.attaching the screenshot of same.

Could someone please let know whether it is possible to get the data into the report when we have cube as a datasource already.

@anithaMallam , Are you using the live connection, check that, There is a limitation on what you can add in that case.

Also, make sure you are on the latest version

Hi Amit,

               Thanks for your reply.iam using latest version only.yes it is live connection to ssas tabular model.

in this case is it not possible to get excel file into the report.

Hi @anithaMallam 

When you connect to an SSAS Tabular model with Live Connection, it is not supported to add other data sources into the same report. See FAQs in Connect to Analysis Services tabular data in Power BI Desktop

You could consider adding additional data sources into the tabular model and redeploy it to AS server. Then connect to the updated tabular model with Live Connection from Power BI.
