I have the variables of name and area of research interests. Interests have many different options, maybe 30. I want to be able to show a table in Power BI and have users filter by research interests and it show who (the name) has that research interest.
Hi @btremain ,

Hello @btremain. @Ritaf1983 is generous with her time and thoughful guidance. Remember to adhere to the decorum of the Community Forum when asking a question.
Please provide your work-in-progress Power BI Desktop file (with sensitive information removed) that covers your issue or question completely in a usable format (not as a screenshot).

This allows members of the Forum to assess the state of the model, report layer, relationships, and any DAX applied.
I have data collected from a survey where they gave their name, department, and up to five different domains (checkboxes on a survey). These domains are in one cell separated by commas. Is it ok to leave that domain variable like that? I want to have it appear like in the link below where I can sort by domain and it gives me all the people who have that domain as an interest.
Hi @btremain "
If i understood you correctly you have to split this column into multiple columns by
name, department horizontally, and domains vertically.

As I mentioned in my first response, I need some dummy data that keeps the raw data structure for a more specific solution.

Hi @btremain
Can you please share a pbix or some dummy data that keeps the raw data structure with expected results? It should help us clarify your scenario and test the coding formula.
How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly
Here is a link to the dummy data in an spreadsheet.
I would like the viz to end up like the dashboard at this link: Data Viz Intended Outcome
I would like people who visit the page be able to filter by an AREA that someone selected and it show all those people who selected "READING" as their area. They could select up to 5 areas. The people are listed along the left hand colum in the viz and if I filter by READING, it only shows those people who selected READING. I would also like to know how to make that wordle that appears above. I basically want to know how to set up a filter.
Hello @btremain , and you are in the very capable hands of @Ritaf1983 . I now completely understand your ask from the dashboard sample. A Word Cloud Visual when placed at the top center of the report canvas seems to make a great deal of sense to help the consumer understand the survey results. The Word Cloud Visual was one of the very early additions to the Power View / Power BI Report. Best of luck, and I am eager to see your final work product in action as you share it back with the Fabric Community!
@btremain , I almost forgot that there is a Sample PBIX showcasing the Word Cloud Visual to try out while you wait for a first iteration and guidance toward a working solution.
