Hello,
I have two tables that I want to link together, but I don't know how to do it correctly. Because in table A there are different phases per ID with a start date (start of the phase). In table B there are per ID several values that are recorded per day.
The problem is that only the dates are linked that have the same month as the start date from table A. But the months between the IDs are missing.
Table A
| ProjectID | PhaseID | Date |
| 1 | 1 | 01.04.22 |
| 1 | 2 | 16.06.22 |
| 1 | 3 | 23.10.22 |
| 2 | 4 | 18.12.21 |
| 2 | 5 | 10.04.22 |
Table B
| ProjectID | Name | Days | Date |
| 1 | A | 2 | 16.04.22 |
| 1 | B | 5 | 18.08.22 |
| 1 | C | 8 | 20.10.22 |
| 2 | D | 1 | 20.12.21 |
| 2 | F | 3 | 10.02.22 |
| 2 | G | 4 | 23.03.22 |
If I want to look at the days per phase, then lines 2,5,6 are missing. (Name B,F and G)
Thanks in advance.
Hi @lua2 ,
I want to confirm the following things with you:
1. What's the relationship between date column in table A and date column in table B ?
2. What's the meaning of Ranged Date Data ?
In order to better understanding your demands and give the right solution, could you please share with me some screenshots of your data after hiding sensitive information and tell me what's your expected output?
Best regards,
Yadong Fang

Hi @v-yadongf-msft ,
This is the Visual I need:
But in the visual I am now missing the column [Name] from the table Allocation. The column [Name] should then be in the rows of the matrix table under phase name.
Then I need the widget with which I can filter by month.
Screenshots of Tables:
I have tried several ways to connect the tables, unfortunately I have not found a solution.
Thanks and kind regards
lua2
@lua2 , Not very clear, but you need a common date and projectid column
refer if needed - https://amitchandak.medium.com/power-bi-when-i-asked-you-to-create-common-tables-a-quick-dax-solutio...
Hi @amitchandak,
I would like to be able to have a relationship built between the tables so that if I were to have 2 tables/matrices in the Report view, with one table showing the Daily Date Data and the other table showing the Ranged Data Data, I would be able to select a record in the Daily table and Power BI's highlight functionality would filter the records in the Ranged table so that only date ranges containing my selected date appear, and vice-versa
