link a slicer or something to adjust the date range in my custom written query

i have a report which uses a custom query as the data source. is there any way to link a slicer or something somehow to adjust the date range in my custom written query so that end-users can change the date range? the query gives totals of things within the defined time period. or if there's a way to make a slicer let the end-user change the data source which all the reports use? i could prep different predefined time frames and just let them choose from a drop down

@kevardll Assuming you are importing the data, You would bring in all the data you want available to the users and model it with a Date table as a dim. They would use that as a slicer. The query is only run at refresh time and could have parameters to choose what to bring in. The end users cannot change power query parameters
