If I use Premium capacity, can I share Power BI reports with free users who do not have Pro licenses? Will they be able to access the reports?

  • Hi rajasekaro ,

Yes, if your workspace is assigned to Power BI Premium capacity, you can share your reports with free users and they will be able to view the reports without needing a Pro license. Just make sure the workspace itself is actually using Premium capacity (you should see a diamond icon next to the workspace name). Free users can view and interact with the content, but if the workspace is not in Premium, they’ll still need a Pro license to access shared reports.

If you have more questions about how to set up Premium or share content, let me know!

    Hi rajasekaro ,
Thank you burakkaragoz for the prompt response!

Yes, with Power BI Premium capacity, you can share reports with free license users, and they can view them if the reports are in a Premium workspace. Free users need Viewer role permissions to access the content but canot create or edit it ,only Pro or PPU users can fo it.

I hope this resolve your query. If so,give us kudos and consider accepting it as solution.
