Hey everyone,
we have one database, and 5 pages in power bi report.
4 of them is planning to be import mode, and the last page should be direct query.
I know that we can use direct query from one database and use an excel file to import and use them together.
but can we do this scenario I mentioned above?
please let me know in the comments, sharing link tutorial if possible
THANKS !

I change direct query mode to import mode also,
the answer is : just use get data to connect to the same database with direct query mode. I didn't know it was that easy.
Thank you for detail side informations, I believe it will come to that point one day.
is it possible to find this on the workspace
"spin up the Report usage metrics report in Power BI service"?
Don't let the Business Users dictate HOW to build the Power BI stuff. Instead, ask them: "What are your data latency requirements? Why do you want to specify Direct Query? Can you live with, say, hourly refresh?" If they insist on Direct Query, then build the model for them, but then also spin up the Report usage metrics report in Power BI service and monitor how often they are hitting that report page. I bet after a few weeks it will be down to once or twice per day. 🙂
But if you absolutely MUST have a Direct Import source, then when you connect, make sure you check the appropriate box when setting up the Data Source:
Just know that not all sources support Direct Query. Databases like SQL Server, sure. CSV, TXT, Excel I don't think support Direct Query.

@ToddChitt
I found this online but I couldn't make it.

I'm already connected to the database direct query I want to have import mode in the same database as well.
Can you guide me how ?
I am confused by your reference in the original post about "5 pages in power bi report. 4 of them is planning to be import mode, and the last page should be direct query."
Pages are simply containers for Visuals. A Page is not IMPORT or Direct Query. The data itself is.
I rarely use Direct Query. It is useful only if A) data is changing faster than a scheduled refresh can handle, and B) users NEED to see real time data changes.
Ask yourself this: Can this data be refreshed on schedule, like hourly, and still satify the users. If so, do everything as IMPORT.
Moving on, IF the queries do NOT depend on each other, maning that a Direct Query table is not joined to an IMPORT query in Power Query, then you should be able to mix and match.
If you are trying to switch from DQ to IMPORT, it may be easiest to simply re-create it as such.

We have 5 pages in one report and 4 of them will use visual from a table with import mode, and 1 page will use direct query mode within the same database.
this is what business asks me to do, and I have never done it. That's why I don't know.
Could you guide me on this, or give me a hint so I can search on google?
Have you actually TRIED it? Should be possible.
