imported data not refreshshing in visuals
- 3 months ago
Hello vickster3659,
The 12th CSV was likely imported successfully, but not added to the final appended query used by the visuals.
Check the following:
- Confirm the 12th file contains rows in Power Query.
- Verify the Append step includes the new file/query.
- Ensure column names and data types match the previous files.
- Select Close & Apply to refresh the model.
- Check for filters or slicers excluding the new month.
For future monthly files, using Folder import is usually easier and more scalable than manually appending CSVs each month in Microsoft Power BI Desktop.

Hi vickster3659
Without access to the actual queries, it’s difficult to determine what’s causing the issue. Could the PBIX file be shared, along with sample CSV files (with any confidential data removed)? Keeping the same column structure would help, including at least one example for working and another for non-working scenarios. A cloud link (e.g., OneDrive or Dropbox) to those files would be fine.
Hello, Since it is payroll data, I am not comfortable sharing it outside our organization. I have discussed with my manager and have found someone within the company that can assist, but I will need to scrub the files of confidential data before I can begin.
I appreciate the suggestions already provided, and as I progress, I know I can come back here and ask questions. I'm sure it's something I am doing wrong and once I get past that, I should be able to progress.
