how to change the source data of a report

Hello everyone.

I have a report created in Power BI, where I have the visualizations already mounted and the bases of a computer folder. The theme now is that I want to change the source data to a folder in a sharepoint without changing the visualizations. that is, my folder with the sales I had in the local folder, switch to the sales that are in the sharepoint.

please help

You can start the new query with the SharePoint folder as the source, open the Advanced Editor, copy those lines, and replace the equivalent (or more) source lines in the original query. You may need to update one of the references to the previous step after that (for example, "Type changed" to "Renamed Columns").

Hi, @CLCastroEn

There are two ways to change the data source in Power BI desktop:

  1. Go to Transform data-> data source setting, change the source of data:

  1. Go to the power query editor, advanced editor, change the data source manually:

Then you should update the reference of the next steps according to the actual situation as mahoneypay says.
