i read all the articles but i still don't understand what's the goal of the gateways

how do i know if i need gateways? what their goals?

@MP_123 If you read all the gateway info, you know that there are a large amount of scenerio's that will dictate whether or not you need a gateway depending on where your data is. At a really high level, if your data is on premises, you need a mechanism to refresh the data in the cloud (Service). The gateway is that mechanism, that provides a secure connection to your data, and allows you to refresh the data set.
