exporting sql queries

Hi Team,

 

I have a Dashboard in tableau and I want to create the same one in power bi . Data is huge I cannot import into the model.If I have a tableau work book. can I use same sql and import the model into power bi.(as it is in tableau can we get the model into power bi)

 

Please help me on this.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Based on my understanding, what you mentioned is connecting to the Tableau model from PowerBI directly, it is not supported in PowerBI, in PowerBI, we can only use live connection to some limited resource.

If what you mentioned is connecting to the same data source like that in Tableau, if is possible, we can use direct query rather than import to connect to the data source.

Thank you..I mean in tableau they are using s3 bucket to connect with the data and they have the views over there and the reports are already avalible. can we see the tableau dashboards and use the same sql as in tableau dashboard in the power bi and create the model as same .
