Hi Expert,
how to export data from power bi workspace like millions of records ..i.e. from datasets or something
Shree
Hi @Anonymous
An option for you to get data from the Power BI Service would be using “export data”, but currently it is only supported for a single visual or a tile, it ‘s not supported for millions of records from multiple datasets or others.
For the details, you can turn to the URL as below: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/export-data-from-power-bi-workspace/td-p/883826
Another option would be using “analyze in Excel”, where you can export the data of the whole report or datasets as an excel file.
For the details, you can turn to the URL as below: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-analyze-in-excel
Hope this would help.
Best Regards,
Kelly
Hi Expert,
yes but excel will only support 10 lacs records

@Anonymous,
There are some limitations to export data - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/visuals/power-bi-visualization-export-data#limitations-and-considerations
However, I have tried with Paginated Report exporting 637K records (155MB) as a CSV file. It works for me.
I think this is one of the JSON code to run it on flow, any suggestions on this
Shree
Hi @Anonymous ,
Yep,it’s a way for you to export data in Json format by using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS),but there’re also limitations for Json files.
Best Regards,
Kelly
@Anonymous if your dataset is hosted in a premium workspace ... then it is possible to connect to the dataset using SQL Server Management Studio (please refer to this link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-premium-connect-tools). With that being said, it is possible to programmatically access your data just like how you connect to SSAS (for example, using AdomdClient in C#).
Another option for you to get data from the Power BI Service (though I have never tried before) would be using Power BI publisher for Excel to connect to Power BI data in Excel (please refer to this link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/publisher-for-excel)
Hope this helps.
