error reporting (display the name of the file)

Hi, I am looking for some help on how to add or modify the error message to show more details like file name which is causing the problem.

   - Source: Folder location (csv files)

   - Report type: Power BI "Template"

   - End User: No technical background

The report is dynamic in columns and datatype and runs fine when all files are good as per the use case.

The problem is sometimes end users place empty file/missing key columns etc in the folder along with other files (out of 10 or 100 files 1 could be a problem and if the file name is displayed it can be excluded by the end user as it adds no value to the report/kpi)

As a developer it is easy for me to go to PowerQuery and identify and exclude or fix it, but next time there could be a new problemetic file with new use case. just to elobrate, all transformations and KPIs and report is perfect and I am looking for a solution which could help from the end user side to solve instead of waiting for me to fix it (sort of selfservice).

Hi, @Anonymous

You have a great idea. But Power BI is now unable to achieve what you need. You can submit an idea for it at   https://ideas.powerbi.com/ideas/   and wait for users with the same needs as you to vote for you to help make it happen as soon as possible.
