email notifications desktop

Hi - we are using Desktop to retrieve/refresh data from a Web data source (API providing a CSV formatted data set).

 

We then use Desktop to publish to the Power BI Web Service.

 

We want to have users subscribe to email notifications in the Web service, and get emails whenever the data has been refreshed by the the Desktop publishing the updated data set to the Web Service....  Will this work?

My initial answer was "Yes" but now I am wondering if that is true. When you subscribe to a dashboard it tells you that you will get an email when the data is refreshed but no more than once per day. I assume Reports are the same. But, not sure if that covers being republished from Desktop or just automated refreshes now that you mention it.
