Email notification on Scheduled job failure
Hi
For the new feature to send an email on a Schedule job failure, it is stated that it cannot send to external email adresses.
I would like to send that email to a Teams Channel, but it is considered an external email, even though it is legally part of our domain. How to get around this limitation?
Thanks!
Hi schneiw,
Thanks for reaching out in the community, happy to help with your question.
You mentioned that you're trying to send job failure notifications to a Teams channel (with an email like [email protected]). This type of address is considered external to the organization because of the In.teams.ms domain.
If you want to send notifications for pipeline step failures, you can achieve this by using the default Outlook/Teams task available in the pipeline.
If you prefer to handle notifications at the pipeline level, I’d recommend using a distribution list email (e.g., [email protected]) that includes the people who should receive the alert. You can then configure the job failure notification to be sent to that distribution group. If this suggestion was helpful, please accept it as the answer. Let me know if you need more details, Kudos are appreciated!
