code clean up?

Hi there,

I have these two custom columns over here, I'm pretty satisfied with it, and it does what it needs to do, but is there a more succient way of doing this?

Column Starting_Job_Level - I want it to return the job level as of the minimum (entry) date of that NAME

Column Path - I want it to concententate and show a path across the dates

Here are the two columns --

``

Starting_Job_Level =

VAR Min_Date = MINX( CALCULATETABLE( 'Table (4)', ALLEXCEPT('Table (4)', 'Table (4)'[NAME])), 'Table (4)'[Date]) RETURN

IF('Table (4)'[Date] = Min_Date, 'Table (4)'[Job],"")

Path = CONCATENATEX( CALCULATETABLE( 'Table (4)', ALLEXCEPT('Table (4)','Table (4)'[NAME])), 'Table (4)'[Job], " >> ")

@peterhui50 some changes:

Starting_Job_Level =
VAR __table = ALLEXCEPT('Table (4)', 'Table (4)'[NAME])
VAR Min_Date = MINX( __table, 'Table (4)'[Date])
RETURN
CALCULATE ( MIN ( 'Table (4)'[Job] ), __table, KEEPFILTERS ( 'Table (4)'[Date] = Min_Date ) )

Path = CONCATENATEX(  ALLEXCEPT('Table (4)','Table (4)'[NAME]), 'Table (4)'[Job], " >> ")

Starting job level needs fix, if two names start on the same date and have different job name, it will give the wrong result, you need to check it for the name and the minimum date.
