changing relationships in direct query affect data source?
If i change the relationship in direct query, will I change the relationsihp in the data source?
wpf_ not it will not remove at the data source, it will only remove in Power BI data model, go ahead and remove it.

wpf_ what you mean? I guess you are saying changing relationship in Power BI data model, if that is the question, yes whatever you do in the backend it doesn't reflect in Power BI data model, you have to manage/update/add relationship in Power BI data model independent of how it is done in the backend.
Not sure if this is what your original question is?

parry2k I connected to dynamics data source through directquery mode. I was not getting the results that i wanted and i saw that one of the relationships between two tables are not active. I tried activating it but am getting this msg:
"You can't create a direct active relationsip between table1 and table2 because that would introduce ambiguity between table2 and table3. To make tis relationship active, deactivate and delete one of the relationships between table2 and table3 first"
So i was wondering if i deactivate or remove a relationship from power bi, will that remove the relationship in the data source as well?
If the answer is no, then is it OK to modify relationships in the data model which can be different then the relationships set in the data source, just so that I can get the results i want? Is this common practice? Thanks.
