change text based on mouse position / hover

Hello everyone!

I would like to display individual text boxes in the middle of my report based on the position of the mouse.

I have 4 rectangles at the bottom of the report page.

Based on the selected rectangle by just hover with the mouse over, I would like to change the text in the middle of my report page.

How is that possible?

You cannot have dinamic changes of visualizations only with overhung only using tolltips or buttons has I referred.

To my knowledge on PBI you need to have an interaction to toggle an action so you will need to click a button or a bookmark, just hovering and having those changes I'm not aware of that.

Maybe you can post and idea on the forum.

Hi @joshua1990 ,

Check the video below where you can add a tooltip on any visualization if you do custom tooltips for each of your retangles you get expected result.

@MFelix  Thanks for your reply!

But this approach would show me the text next to the mouse.

I would like to show the text every time at the same place in an appropriate "text box"

Not really sure of what you mean but you can also use a button that changes on over something similar to this:

button over.gif

Basically create a blank button with the size you need, place it on the position you need and the go to the text option and change the text on hover as you can see below the button is smaller than the rectangle.

Thanks, but this is not what I am looking for.

What I want is basically possible with buttons and bookmarks.

If I press a button a specific bookmark should be selected/ display.

With this approach, I can change/ toggle between visuals or elements.

But instead of clicking on the button, I just want to hover it.

To hover over a specific area/ element to display different text (-boxes)
