How to set all the default date type display as 'mm/dd/yyyy' format?

If you mean to have the type of the date data imported to be set automatically to the format that you preferred, currently this is not available under Power BI desktop, this is related with the source data type pre-configured.
But we could change the date type in Data View(or under Report View) under Transform tab in Power Bi desktop after data is imported/loaded:
