change column using a parameter

I have a table from a select query that has 3 columns date, units, and count.

date                 units                  count

20160225         1                       1

20160226         1                       1

this is how it looks in the table

What I'm trying to do is create a chart that will display the dates and the units or the count.  I need to use either a parameter or a filter but I'm not sure what is the best.  I need to be able to select from a filter or a parameter units; and the line graph will generate a graph for the units, then if I need to select count the graph will change using the count.  Can someone please help?

Thank you,
