I have recent version of power bi, and have data in xlsx.
on the preview, the data appears ok:
but when I complete the load, errors arise, and I cannot see the errors, and my data has lots of NULL and errors. Below is a snippet:
I cannot upload xls files either, and company policy prohibits me from installing as per https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/XLS-EXCEL-FILE/m-p/209230#M92275

Please check your Excel extension, in Power BI Desktop, both Access databases and early versions of Excel workbooks (.XLS files of type Excel 2007-2003) use the Access Database Engine.
While for the .xlsx extension excel file, you can choose the Excel directly.

I used those methods and still came up with the error mentioned

Try to create a sample data such as 1,2,3, 4,,etc in excel ,and connect it again using the Excel connector, check the result. Based on my test in the latest Power BI Desktop version 2.70.5494.661 , it worked fine.

It works with other files. very odd.
I also tried saving as csv, xls, xlsx and onlt this file is affected

Please check if there are some illogical values or data type in your current .xlsx file. If the file data is not large, how about trying to copy and paste it into a new xlsx excel?
