cannot apply any changes in options of power bi desktop

in the march release i am no longer able to change any checkboxes in the options for power bi desktop.  My co-worker has no issue changing any options.  when i attempt to turn off "auto time intelligence" for example and click okay.  the window stays open and never closes.  I can x out but then the change is not made.  Any ideas?

i uninstalled and reinstalled and tried both versions, the store version and the x64 version with same issue.

i'm using the following windows version.

did you ever find a way to solve this? We run into same issues here for a couple of users. 
I would be very happy if anyone has a solution or suggestions.

@cglick , Make sure no Windows updates are pending. If pending install those first. Then try again, if do not resolve. Log an issue too - https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues
