Years are not grouped together in matrix

Hi

I am trying to get a matrix in power bi that shows all years and all months within that year under it. I am not sure why but I keep getting multiple rows for the same year and month. Can someone help me out please ?

Hello @StiffMeister are there any other columns in the matrix visual they may be splitting this field please check for other columns as well.

Hi no this is the only value on my matrix. I expect 1 record per year. Does it have something to do with the datatype I use for year ?
