Recently I've noticed that when I combine a Date field with a none Date field as a hierarchy and add this hierarchy to a visual's X Axis, the X Axis defaults to "Categorical" and I get no option to switch it between "Continuous" or "Categorical" anymore.
The strange thing, I've used this setup many times before. So if I copy a visual with this type of hierarchy setup and a "Continuous" X Axis, it stays that way. But if I try to set it up on a new visual, I can't get it to work.
The only thing I recently changed is that I turned of Auto date/time as a setting in the report. Which is what I'm assuming is causing this. But it seems like a weird bug, otherwise why would copying visuals with the original setup still work?
Example setup of the hierarchy:
Two of columns in the hierarchy above should be able to be set to "Continuous" (the Month Start Date & the Date). But for some reason any new visual where I use this hierarchy defaults to "Categorical" for any level of the hierarchy and I can't change it (the option dissapeared in the "X Axis" settings of the visual).
However, if I copy a visual that is using this hierarchy and is already displayed with a Continuous X Axis using the Month Start Date or the Date for example, then it does work...
Anyone else have this or know how to fix it?
I'm well aware. That's why I'm asking is why when I use a date field, I can't set it to continuous.
