X-Axis date labels adding time

Hi,   I have a area chart showing transactions by day. Generally all is fine but if by using a slicer the chart is reduced down to show only a few days then the chart decides to add extra labels on...

It appears this is a duplicate of this post from July 2017. As stated there isn't a way to format or change the values of the axis whilst in continuous mode.

 

This is the closest request I can find on the Power BI Ideas pages.
