Is there anyway to allow writeback to a data source?
For example, we have several dashboards that show errors or issues or areas of concern.
When you drill down to that detail level we'd like to be able to capture feedback (not comments as the comments are in the report interface only) but feedback at the row level and write them to a SPO list or SQL table or..whatever.
Then we could reconsume that feedback in other PBI dashboards or...whatever.
Take a look at writeback using Inforiver.
Inforiver supports collaborative commenting, writeback to databases and scheduling of reports without any IT setup.
@OneWithQuestion you might want to have a look at https://www.acterys.com an end to end solution for write back, planning and performance management with Power BI. 5 related Power BI custom visuals and 3 Apps are listed on Appsource: https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/marketplace/apps?page=1&search=acterys
Hi @OneWithQuestion,
Take a look at http://www.prc.com.au/visual-planner/. Power ON enable writeback for text comments, numbers and meta data to SQL Server, Hadoop, Teradata, SAP Hana, Oracle, etc. Virtually any data source and can be either on-prem or cloud based. They're also the only company in the world that allows for real time updates to Tabular Models directly from Power BI reports. You can see more of the functionality at - https://youtu.be/olRXFLaynTg
I hope this helps.
Regards
Scott
I'm afraid It is impossible to write back to the data source in Power BI.
