Hi,
I have come across a strange scenario today and would be great to see if anyone else has hit anything similar. Looks to me like a bug.
I have 2 tables. Bookings and Currency (Base). Each Table has a Whole Number key Column called Base_Currency_Key. Each Booking has a Base_Currency_Key of 4. However when I create the relationship in Power BI between the Base_Currency_Key in Bookings and Base_Currency_Key in the Currency (Base) table they columns don't join correctly. Currency_Key 4 is AUD however it joins to a Currrency_Key of 17179869188. I have shown the result and relationships below.
If I go into Power Query and update the type of the Base_Currency_Key columns to TEXT the join works
I would expect all of my Key columns to be Whole Numbers and not have to convert them to TEXT.
Would be keen to hear any thoughts on this.
Cheers!
Jack
The relationship seems to be correct.
Is there any other direct or indirect relationship between two tables?
Best Regards
Maggie
Hi,
No there is no indirect relationship so it definetly looks to be a bug.
Can this be investigated?
