Hi community,
I need some help with a KPI.
I have a single table that I using for this data called "alerts" that I am attempting to work with in all these visuals. I also have a separate Date table for best practice that I can also use if needed called "date".
In this table, I have the following data columns with no filters on visualizations other than the slicer mentioned below:
id | title | createdDate | createdDateTime | category | description and others
In my example, I am using a general data slicer with the createdDate data since that is linked to the other Date table. If I move the date in the slicer, all works as expected in all other visualizations. I have a single card that counts events or essentially a count of id that works fine and is used as the basis of the KPI visual.
In this visual, for the trend I am using the same createdDate so it matches with the slider and for the target I am using a general calculate of the id field and if its greater than zero to display 5 so that works as expected since 5 is the number of the target. The weird part is the actual KPI measure itself. I am expecting it to show a disinct count of alert id for the slicer period, just like the card does for the overall count of event id that are present in that period but instead that is not happening. If I choose a filter of anohter category in that data table below (visual not shown), the total events or id shows up fine but the KPI doesn't reflect either the distinct count of that column nor the actual count. In fact, it goes up sometimes when a category is filtered... this is very weird.
Any thoughts on this?
I am expecting the KPI to show the actual DC of event or id for the slicer filtered period. The target can be a fixed number as it is now but would be great to redo the calculated measure and use the same DC of event id but those from the week period before. Can anyone help me out with what I am doing or not doing here? 🙂
Thank you!
Hi, @Anonymous
Not fully sure what is your question, can you elaborate a bit more.
Please provide some screenshots or test cases to explain what you are trying to do, it will better help us understand the problem.
