Dear all,
I am using Power BI Desktop since a few days, watched some videos and I am happy that it was not so hard to use. Currently i am facing a issue:
I have data, lets say numbers over time period, that i would illustrate via visuals (matrix). The data are over two years (November 2024- April 2025). But when inserting a visual (matrix) the two months of 2024 are listed not on the left sight, it is on the right side. Do somebody has any idea how I can fix this and sort the dates in time axis chronological ?
PS: It is a confidental data source, so I can not share the table.
Thanks

Hello, this sorting function sorts only the lines not the columns as you showed.

PS: In the meantime I added the months in the Y-Axis as a column, this works, not so user friendly to read, but only this works for me.

Hi @Yusuf4oo6
Did you add the Year column to the column well? It doesn’t look like it. Without the Year, there’s no way to distinguish which month belongs to which year, and the data may be sorted alphabetically or according to whatever column is set for custom sorting.
Please see the screenshot below:
Hello,
when I choose the Year also, then in the Visual I have only the years, without Monts. The columns are formated as Date.
This particullary helps, but not solve my issue to have months also visible in the visual.

Hello, you can sort the values using options at three dots at corner of visual
if u are worried about your date not in proper order, verify the data type of dates as well as data type of rows you have given for matrix
if this helps please mark as solution
