Vertical Line Reference to another table with multiple dates

I'm trying to create a benchmarking visual that can toggle between different location's metrics while showing a vertical "benchmark" based on another table with all of the benchmark dates.

I have a dataset with different metrics and a date field. I have another table with locationsand a benchmark date. How would I go about building a visual to show metric trending and a benchmark that will toggle between locations when I select a different location?

Let me know if any additional information or context is needed. Thank you!

@amcgrail , If you have a continuous axis, You can use X-axis constant line, there using fx you can use a measure

That is one part I've been getting stuck on is adding a measure to accurately show the benchmarking dates when selecting a different location. If I had a chart like the one below, what type of measure would I create to insert into the x-axis constant line fx? That way when I select a new location, the benchmark changes on the chart.
