Utilisation of Slicers in Bower BI Dashboard embedded in PowerPoint

Hi,

I have embedded a dashboard in PPT which includes slicers. The dashbaord is shared with a colleague, but when presenting the PPT presentation, they are not able to use the slicers, whereas I am. Perhaps this is a permissions issue?

Any advice would be gratefully recieved.

Many thanks

HM

Hi @HMLonghurst ,

Accoring to your description, this could be due to a number of reasons, such as:

  • Your colleague does not have the Power BI add-in for PowerPoint installed or enabled. The Power BI add-in is required to view and interact with live Power BI data in PowerPoint. You can check if the add-in is installed and enabled by following these steps.
  • Your colleague does not have the required permissions to access the dashboard or the underlying data source. The Power BI add-in uses the same permissions as the Power BI service, so your colleague needs to have at least read access to the dashboard and its data source. You can check and manage the permissions by following these steps.
  • Your colleague has an outdated version of the PowerPoint presentation or the Power BI add-in. The Power BI add-in is constantly updated with new features and bug fixes, so it is recommended to always use the latest version. You can check for updates by following these steps. You can also refresh the PowerPoint presentation to make sure it has the latest data from Power BI by using the Refresh option in the Data options menu.

Thank you for your response.

Re the points above, my colleague has the add-in, relevant permissions and the latest version of PPT. As mentioned, my colleague can see the BI report, she is just unable to use the slicers.

Thanks
