When changing the format of my measure to a custom string - I want to display in millions, with one decimal and add "M" at the end - it seems like PowerBi interprets the measure as text. In Analyze in Excel, I can no longer add the measure to values in the pivot table.
This is the custom string I am using, I'm unsure whether it's correct or not, but it looks good in PowerBi desktop app:
#0,,.0M;-#0,,.0M;"-"

That is correct, and working as designed. You can create a duplicate of the measure but without formatting. Use that for your Analyze in Excel needs.
