Using binary (folder import) with parameters

when I try and make my folder import via a binary parameter, powerbi automatically creates sample files based on the file paths I import, and therefore I cant use it when I try opening an exported template on another computer. Is there something I need to do to be able to create a template based on a binary folder import and then use in another computer?

Save the excel files as CSV and then try again importing the file, repeat the same each time you are going to update the folder
