Using a Date Slicer to update a parameter

We need to use a date slicer to update a parameter.  I've created a table with one date column and linked the field to the parameter.  When I use that field as a slicer the only style options for the slicer are Vertical list, Tile and Dropdown.  I want to set the style set to After.  Is there anyway to have a date slicer with the style set to After to get that value (I can do this in a measure) and then update either the parameter or the other slicer (the one linked to the parameter)?

I'm not sure why Power BI has not added just a single date picker as an option for a slicer yet.

When the field is bound to a parameter like this:

The only optons for the date slicer are Dropdown, Vertical list or Tile

If I remove the binding to the parameter then I get all the options for the date slicer.

@vpoulson you should be able to set the date slicer to after or before.
