Example: I have 2 tables where I need to filter both at the same time. I have added in the Text filter to just type in and filter both, however you have to put in a field that selects 1 table. This only filters 1 of the tables and the results are blank for the other.
I thought it was a relationship issue as I don't fully understand it except that the same name columns = are related. I have tried every different type of combination to get this to work with the same result.
I have found that people post information about Slicing, but in my case, the wording matters and the slicer wouldn't work as partial search is needed.

@kerk_03 , better to have a common dimension. and then use a text filter on common dimension

Thank you, but i feel like that is a long complex way to do something so simple. Maybe PowerBi isn't as great of a tool as i thought it to be. I found this a little bit ago and it has me perplexed as to hes having the exact opposite effect as I am and I want to be able to do what he has done. I guess the Tables must match exactly.
