Can PowerBI push updates to tables on a sql server database? This seems to be a feature gap with most data visualization tools. The use case for me is having a manager view their financial position in a PowerBI Dashboard, and allowing the manager to enter a forecast amount directly into the dashboard, which would update a record / field in a table stored in a database housed on one of our sql servers.

Power BI is a data visualization tools. Current, there is such an option to allow end users to change the data in your dashboard and then update it to your source table. In you want to update your data, you could create your own application, and then embed Power BI report to your allication.
