Using Parameters in Power BI Desktop

How can we make a parameter to pop up, prompting users to enter a value while we open the Power BI report from Power BI desktop or Power BI service.

It will be of great help if I can get help on this.

Hi @Anonymous ,

When you export the pbix file to a template (.pbit file) and reopen it in Desktop, it will pop up a window to choose the parameter.

Hi @Anonymous,

Popping up of an input text box or pop up for Parameters is yet not available in Power BI. On the services a user has to navigate to the Dataset that the report is using and the settings for it.Under that you can see the Parameters option where a user can input his values and click on Apply.

This is only way available.
