Hi,
Brand new Power BI user here and very much finding my feet. I have managed to create my first dashboard (which i think looks absolutely amazing, but can't seem to muster the same enthusiasm from anyone else who I share it with!), however I am wanting to expand into multiple sheets to make visualising the data easier.
The issue that I have is that I need to use the same data source in both sheets, but with different columns selected etc. When I go into the second sheet and transform the data to select the columns etc that I need, it also amends the same data set on my first sheet.
Is there a way to apply different transformations to the same dataset across multiple sheets, or is it a one size fits all appraoch where the transformation applies equally across all sheets?
Additionally, is there a way to group certain data? I have three different sales channels that are all listed in one "location" column. Is there a way that, in that location column, I can create three different groups so that I don't have to manually select all 30 locations with the same sales channel when using a slicer?
Many thanks!
Hi @F003093 ,
Do you want to share your report with your end user and let them do some transfrom by themselves? If they want to transform data in Power Query and then republish the report, I think rename the report and dataset may be a better choise. If they are in your organization and republish the report with same name, it will replace your original one. If this reply still couldn't help you solve your problem, please share a sample file with me and show me a screenshot with the result you want. This will make me easier to find the solution.
Best Regards,
Rico Zhou

@F003093 , if two sheets are loaded as a separate table you can do the different transformations to those.
