Use of bookmarks from semantic model Live Connection not working

Hi everyone!

I'm my company's report builder, so I'm creating Semantic Models where I do all measures and calculations. I made two bookmarks to set up, as default, a view for the previous six months counting from the current date and another bookmark that enables me to see all the dates available in my database.

The problem is that when I publish my semantic model and then connect to this one to create a new report, I can't use the bookmarks from the semantic model, and I can't replicate them on the report because it's a live connection to PowerBI. How can I solve this? What I want to achieve is something similar to:

I have one table that contains values such as Date|Name|SaleAmount, and I want to set the report to enable it to always, by default, load all visualizations and filters considering six months before the current date. So, if today is 01 July 2024, it should show data from 01 Jan 2024 to 01 July 2024. However, the user must be able to modify it to see data of another range (i.e., data from previous years).

Thanks

If the bookmarks were created in a report which semantic model was created in the Desktop, go to the report and download that and select live connection. If the bookmarks were with live connection, you can't download the pbix with the data but you can download a copy of that using the second option - the bookmark should still be there. The gist, the bookmarks reside in the report it was created it in which may or may not be the one uploaded together with the semantic model.

Hi @julsr

A bookmark captures the state of a report and resides in that report only and not in any semantic model. So creating a report from scratch even if connected to the same semantic model will not inherit the bookmarks. Try downloading the original report from the servicie and select the second option instead.

Thanks! But I can't do it because the report is connected to a live connection:
